Job Summary: The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities residing in a residential setting. Under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Clinical Supervisor, the RBT implements behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to address maladaptive behaviors, teach new skills, and promote independence. This role involves data collection, collaboration with residential staff, and participation in training to ensure high-quality, person-centered care. The RBT plays a key role in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, enhancing the quality of life for those served.

Schedule: Sunday – Wednesday or Wednesday – Saturday

Responsibilities:

• Implement assigned behavior programs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide training and consultation to direct care staff, reviewing and observing their application of behavior programs.
• Assist individuals with proactive strategies and interventions, supporting them during challenging situations.
• Ensure all behavior support plans meet Abilis policies and comply with external agency requirements (e.g., DDS).
• Regularly monitor behavioral data and provide feedback to staff on documentation accuracy.
• Prepare quarterly behavior reports, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
• Train and orient residential staff on implementing behavior plans.
• Conduct on-site observations and provide constructive feedback to improve program execution.
• Work with the Clinical Team to address daily behavioral challenges and recommend strategies for improvement.
• Provide direct one-on-one and group behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA to address maladaptive behaviors and promote positive skill development.
• Monitor and collect accurate data on behaviors and progress, ensuring documentation aligns with agency policies and regulatory standards.
• Assist with crisis intervention, modeling proactive strategies, and implementing de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Participate in regular training, coaching sessions, and interdisciplinary team meetings to improve service delivery.
• Support individuals in developing Adult Daily Living (ADL) skills to promote independence.
• Support residential staff in understanding and implementing individualized behavior plans effectively.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current RBT certification preferred.
• If not RBT certified, at least two years of experience providing behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• A valid driver’s license with the ability to meet Abilis’s vehicle insurance carrier requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and DDS medication certification.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
